Email Newsletters Everywhere Take A Big Hit
Outlook 2007, released next month, will stop using Internet Explorer to render HTML emails. This means that any HTML emails (such as our e-newsletter,
Vital Signs) will not appear as they would in IE7, but instead will use the
Microsoft Word rendering engine.
Unlike IE7, the Microsoft Word rendering engine will not support background images, will not support for Flash, will not support CSS floats or positioning (which is how the layout structure is determined) and gives poor support to background colors. See the comparison in the image above (from

Visit Campaign Monitor's Blog for the full story. Or read
Microsoft's article about it and download their new tool to help validate for their engine.
Side note: Campaign Monitor is who we use to manage and send our email newsletters and are very happy with them.
UPDATE: Campaign Monitor
has posted an article about the response to their original post.
