London 2012 Olympics Logo A Huge Flop (In My Opinion)
Yes, I am not showing the whole logo because that's more than enough to know that this logo is BAD! Created by
Wolff Olins, a design industry behemoth, I would have expected a much better interpretation. Olins firm branded the 2012 Olympics as Everyone's Olympics. If he means everyones, like anyone could have come up with a better logo than this one, than they hit it on the mark. Especially at a price tag of nearly $800,000 (yes, there are 5 zeros in that number) I would have been happier with just a 2012 in Comic Sans over the one they were paid for. (Ok, I am getting a little out of control, I would never want to see comic sans as an Olympic logo, or any logo, for that matter, but you get my point.)
Needless to say, our firm could have come up with something much more stylish and representative of a worldwide event for far less than that. (Olympic committee, if you are reading this, we are up to the challenge if you want to give it a try.)
