DNA Art

Art and science come together beautifully in the custom DNA art from MoMA. "A kit is provided to collect a painless saliva sample using a cotton-tip swab, which is sent to a secure certified lab for processing. The result is a piece that can never be replicated and is as unique as you—no two prints will ever be the same."

Alive Logo to Be Featured in LogoLounge Volume IV

Yesterday we received some exciting news that the "Alive" logo we designed for St. Paul United Methodist's youth group in Pensacola, Florida was selected to be featured in LogoLounge Volume IV. This is a great honor for us to have recognition in a nationally (and maybe internationally) published book which will be used as a reference by designers and students for years to come.

Turning 20!

There aren't many design firms today that can still claim they have been around for 20 years, but we can. Pulse Creative Partners began it's life as Bean Graphics in May of 1987. Our original founder, Sam Bean, started the business as a slide presentation company and built it into a full service design firm over 17 years. In June of 2004, Stefan Bean, joined the company as a designer and then in January of 2007, purchased the company and formed Pulse Creative Partners. Through transitions and evolutions, we have become every bit of the company Sam Bean had originally envisioned and more.

Thank you to all of our clients, past and present, for helping us achieve 20 great years of design. With your help, and our intention to continue to serve you with excellent branding and design, we will be able to see another 20 years.

Everyone Has A Story at Rosa Loves

Not only does Rosa Loves design great shirts, but the profits from shirt sales go directly to helping a person, family, or community in need. The design on the shirt is specific to the story, and even better, the story itself is printed on the inside of the shirt.

I purchased the shirt "Indo Made" which depicts the story of a fisherman in Indonesia, named Made ("mah-day"). The goal is for Rosa Loves to sell enough shirts to buy a boat for Made. Once the need is met, the guys at Rosa Love will stop printing and selling this design. So pick up a shirt of your own, or check out some of the other t-shirts and the stories behind them.

Digg in Hot Water

Digg.com is stuck between a rock and hard place. Legal action may be taken against this company for allowing stories that contain a single 32-digit code that lets people crack HD-DVD copyright protection. Which raises the question: As Web 2.0 sites become more prevalent, where do you draw the line on what is allowed?
