The Strange Looks Begin: Day 16

Well the Colts are now 2-0 after a nail biting win over Tennessee last weekend. I must say, I pray a lot, but this game, I prayed for a miracle to stop Tennessee at the end of the game. Looks like the big guy came through again. Of course, does He really care about the Colts? I think He cares about what we care about. But let's not turn this post into some sort of theology lesson.

I have been wearing this jersey now for 16 days straight. It's actually been really great! Get up, shower, put on the jersey, go to work. Never thought I would like wearing a uniform to work, but it isn't too bad. It has become apparent, however, that places I frequent are beginning to get this look on their faces like, "didn't he wear that 2 days ago," or "hasn't he worn that a lot the past few weeks?" Well, the answer, of course, is "YES". But that's the real fun behind this Jersey Challenge. I get to make people think twice when they see me and I get to tell them all about why I haven't changed my shirt in more than 2 weeks. As long as the Indianapolis Colts win, I get to continue telling people all about it.

Now, we are just a few days away from launching the full version of JerseyChallenge.com. which will feature a Flickr group specifically focused on gathering your photos of you prancing around in a Colts jersey, tailgating, watching the games, or just plain being crazy about the Colts. You can visit our Flickr Group and begin uploading your photos to it. Every photo you upload to our group will show up on JerseyChallenge.com. The site will also begin taking your donation to the PeyBack foundation. We are going to try to raise $25,000 by the end of the season, regardless if the Colts continue on undefeated or not. We think we can raise more than that, but we have to start somewhere. We will begin taking donations starting at $1 and going up from there. Donate whatever your heart desires. After you have donated, we will list your name among all of the other supporters on our site. You're making a commitment and we feel you should be honored for that.

We have also received our first sponsor for our site. DesignedWritePR (317-736-6885) has joined as one of our $1000 sponsors and will be featured on the site. They will also be helping us write and distribute our press releases so we can get more people involved and hopefully more sponsors on board. So, if you are a business and want to get behind something good, or just want to get some publicity, check out our sponsor page to find out the different levels and how you can become one of our sponsors. All sponsor money goes to help us promote this challenge in any way possible so we can get more donors and reach our $25,000 goal, or more.

We'll let you know as soon as our site is officially launched. We hope you can join JerseyChallenge.com. We look forward to it.

One Week, No Funk

Well folks, it has been officially one week with the good old #18 jersey on my back and I am proud to report that there is still no funk. Of course, out of respect for myself and my clients, I do wash this jersey at least a couple of times a week. (Trust me, you'll thank me if this keeps going.)

We are all preparing for the long awaited Game 2 against the Tennessee Titans. This should prove to be an excellent challenge, one particularly worthy of the jersey challenge I have taken upon myself. After an unfortunate loss to the Titans late last season, and their recent updates to their own defense, we should be looking at a pretty good game. But, then again, that's what all the critics said of our season opener against the Saints, and it was a very one-sided blow out in favor of our Colts. And again WR Marvin Harrison, an eight-time ProBowler, will have his chance to embarrass Nick Harper, one of the many former defensive Colts players that have joined the Titans defensive squad, as we had done one week ago against Jason David of the Saints.

But, one thing the Saints did not have was a truly formidable rushing offense, which the Titans seem to have with 282 total rushing yards in their first game. And, while our run defense has tightened up since last season with Bob Sanders and many other key defenders healthy, the Titans will still try their best to run it down our throat. If that's not enough, we'll also have to pay close attention to Vince Young when he steps back to throw, as he completed multiple third down conversions on the ground against the Colts last season.

But we're all ready. It would seem that we are still the favorites in Game 2 because we don't often make the same mistakes twice in a row against the same team. So, without further ado, I'd like to introduce the second stage of this jersey challenge. Should the Colts take Game 2 against the Titans, we will be launching a web site, jerseychallenge.com, dedicated to another winning season and hopefully another 9 or 10 (maybe more) straight wins. We also hope you will get involved. We will be calling all Colts fans, businesses, etc. to join us in this challenge to wear their Colts jerseys or apparel daily until they lose (if they lose). And we will be raising money for the PeyBack Foundation Charity, founded by our very own, Peyton Manning. Our goal is to raise at least $25,000 over the course of the season, and with your help, we can make this goal a reality, and then some.

Keep checking back and we hope to send out an email in the near future announcing the official launch of jerseychallenge.com in a week or so. If you or your business would like to participate with us in raising money for the PeyBack Foundation, please contact us at contact@jerseychallenge.com.

One Man, One Colts Jersey, One Challenge…Day 1

Imagine with me for a moment, the Colts enter the post season undefeated, 16-0 in one of the most impressive post-superbowl championship seasons this league has ever seen. Now, imagine with me waking up every morning during that 17 week period not having to worry about what to wear. Sounds like a dream, right? Well, not exactly. This dream may become the reality for our own Stefan Bean. Prior to last nights impressive Colts victory over New Orleans this very challenge was forged between two coworkers. From now until the Colts lose, Stefan will be required to wear his number 18 Colts jersey. This dedication is not something new to our team here, but is a unique challenge to show how far we will go to uphold any challenge we are presented with. And even while we will surely have plenty of client meetings during that time, we will not be apologetic about this casual attire, rather it will become central to who we are and our enduring dedication to never back down no matter how large or small the challenge may be.

We're dedicated to our Colts as they defend their title of Superbowl Champs. And as we saw last night, there is great potential for this to be the greatest season the league has ever seen, and we're ready for it. We will be chronicling the season as well as the Jersey Challenge as the season rolls on. We hope you will follow this momentous season and all it holds for this city with us.

Welcome to Day 1.
